Overview
Ministry of Earth Sciences invites the candidates for the post of Scientist ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘F’ and ‘G’ level on direct recruitment basis. The candidates eligible for the post can send their application in the prescribed format within 6 weeks (20 August 2016) of publication of advertisement.
Under Ministry of Earth Sciences Recruitment 2016, out of total 10 posts, 02 posts are allotted to Scientist ‘C’, 04 posts are allotted to Scientist ‘D’, 03 posts are allotted to Scientist ‘F’ and 01 post is allotted to Scientist ‘G’.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘C’ (Atmospheric Sciences) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Meteorology or Agricultural Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences or Geophysics or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘C’ (Ocean Sciences) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Oceanography or Marine Sciences or Ocean Sciences or Geophysics or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘D’ (Ocean Technology) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Ocean Technology or Oceanography or Marine Sciences or Ocean Sciences or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘D’ (Polar Sciences/Cryosphere) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Oceanography or Geophysics or Biology or Geology or Geoscience or Meteorology or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘D’ (Geoscience/Geophysics) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Geophysics or Geology or Geoscience or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘D’ (Reach-out Science Communication) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Biology or Chemistry or Zoology or Oceanography or Geophysics or Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences or Geology or Geosciences or Earth Sciences or Mass Communication, Journalism or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘F’ (Atmospheric Sciences/Meteorology) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Geophysics or Atmospheric Sciences or Meteorology or Agricultural Meteorology or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘F’ (Ocean Sciences/Ocean Technology) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Oceanography or Marine Sciences or Ocean Technology or Geophysics or Geosciences or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘F’ (Geo science/Geophysics/Polar Sciences) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Geophysics or Geology or Oceanography or Geoscience or Meteorology or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligibility for Scientist ‘G’ (Atmospheric Sciences) – Candidates must have Master’s degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Geophysics or Geosciences or Atmospheric Sciences or Meteorology or Agricultural Meteorology or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.
Eligible and interested candidates can come send their application in the prescribed format along with required documents to the “Deputy Secretary (Estt.), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Prithvi Bhavan, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003” within 6 weeks (42 days) (60 days for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep) from the publication of the advertisement in Employment News.
